Kenny Scharf first visited The Art Lodge five years ago while visiting Lio in Tulum.

Kenny would constantly say that this place took him back to his home in Brazil, a beachfront property in the jungle where Keith Haring and other friends would come visit.

Kenny mentioned to Lio that he wanted to come get inspired and paint at The Art Lodge. Lio made it happen; while his guests enjoyed the heavenly natural surroundings, Kenny explored a source of divine Caribbean inspiration that allowed him to create a new series of work.

Lio and Isaac asked Scharf to be the Godfather of The Art Lodge, and he gracefully accepted. The project has developed organically and is proud to accommodate artists’ needs fully. Artists who attend The Art Lodge become part of a major, global, creative ecosystem.
